The exhibition "Sud - Aviation SE 3130 Alouette II" unveils a helicopter with a long history. In 1958, the Portuguese Air Force received seven Alouette II helicopters for the training of pilots. With the beginning of hostilities in theaters Africans were used in Angola, Guinea and Mozambique between 1961 and 1967, for projection of land forces and carry wounded. The wounded were transported in two stretchers covered with canvas, laterally installed outside the fuselage, one on each side.

This model was replaced in helicopter combat missions and transporting injured by the model Alouette III, whose fleet still stands at the service of the Portuguese Air Force and this year will celebrate 50 years of service. The Alouette II helicopters were withdrawn from service in 1976.
